What is a PA?

A physician assistant is a healthcare professional who practices medicine as a part of a healthcare team with supervising physicians and other providers.

 

PAs can…

  • Take medical histories

  • Perform Physical Exams

  • Diagnose and treat patients

  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests

  • Counsel on preventive care 

  • Assist in surgery

  • Prescribe medication
